On the 20th of April, 2023, the former regional director of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Kazakhstan, Christoph Mohr, introduced his successor Alexander Wolters at the meeting, which was held at the Kazakhstan institute for strategic studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Thanking Christoph Mohr, the director of KazISS Yerkin Tukumov said: «This year we celebrate the 30th anniversary of KazISS. And from the very first days of the institute’s existence, the Ebert Foundation has always been our reliable partner».
The head of the KazISS stressed the atmosphere of comprehensive assistance and true partnership in relations with the fund, as well as the special value of such support at the current turning point in the history of Kazakhstan.
«Current time demands from us more expert exchange, joint research in the field of dynamics of political development inside and outside Kazakhstan. And the Foundation is interested in expert cooperation with KazISS, » Alexander Wolters said.
During the conversation the parties discussed the possibilities of exchanging experts, the participation of Kazakhstani scientists in scientific research of German think tanks and other formats of cooperation. In addition, the head of the Kazakhstan Institute invited his German colleagues to take part in the Central Asian Forum on Security and Cooperation «Asia in a сhanging world: agenda for the future», which will be held on July 13-14, 2023 in Astana.
