On January 16, 2024, a meeting took place at Nazarbayev University (NU) between Yerkin Tukumov, director of Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Weng Hui, the dean of Nazarbayev University’s Graduate School of Public Policy.
During the discussion, the prospects of academic cooperation between KazISS and NU were explored. This includes the participation of institute staff as guest lecturers, collaborative research efforts, joint publications, and the organization of roundtable discussions on topics such as sustainable development, quality of life, and national identity.
Yerkin Tukumov emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between think tanks and the academic community.
Both parties highlighted the need to continue the dialogue for the development of their partnership, with particular attention to expanding cooperation in academic endeavors.
